This is hot off the burner.Today the Fort Bend Democrats announced their winter fundraiser gala. Featured speakers are none other than Rick and Melissa Noriega.

Rick Noriega, Member of the Texas State House serving District 145 is also known as Lieutenant Colonel Rick Noriega who recently served a 14-month tour in Afghanistan with the US Army battling Al-Qaeda.
Melissa Noriega interrupted her career as Special Projects Manager at HISD to serve in her husband’s place in the Texas Legislature while Rick was on military duty. She has announced that she will be running for Shelley Sekula-Gibbs’ At-Large city council seat in November, and will run to serve out Sekula-Gibbs’ unexpired term should a special election be called.
