Bush Approval Ratings: Rapidly Closing the Gap to Nixon's

Underscoring the escalation of the Occupation of Iraq are Bush’s approval numbers which have gone south faster than a Snowbird in September. I know we’re all hearing about his most recent 29% rating, but go and look at Pollster.com to see the +5% spread amongst the various polls, and the central tendency of all of them. Or what the heck look at what I snagged from the site below. Look at the linear trend after April.

That’s 1% per month.

So by January ’08, if this trend continues, Bush’s approval ratings will challenge Richard Nixon’s on that day in 1974 when he waved goodbye and climbed aboard that military helicopter for one last ride.
