Shocking, absolutely shocking that this man who lived his
life among guns and earned worldwide acclaim over his successful kills in a war
that should never have happened in the first place, should die from the very
thing he inflicted on so many.
And the very real irony is the manner of his death.
It is ironic that Kyle was shot by an acquaintance at a
target practice range. An acquaintance who was still troubled by his tour of
duty in the Middle East, and was merely being soothed by Kyle, who for some odd
reason had the notion that people suffering from post-traumatic stress would be
soothed by putting them in the exact same environment that led to their stress.
Ironic in the sense that, according to NRA president Wayne
LaPierre, the best protection against a bad guy with a gun was a good guy with
a gun, and that simply didn’t work out for Kyle.
Simply shocking huh?
