Released: Obama’s Back to School Address

Read it and try and find anything in the least subversive. Something that evokes fascism, socialism, communism or any other ism.

Anything other than patriotism.

As a matter of fact, one ism that the rightwing might not suspect Obama to mention is that ism about pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. That good old American tradition of “Rugged Individualism.” Something that Dr. Ron Paul and Ayn Rand could get behind.

OK, don’t believe me? What about these passages?

“But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life – what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you’ve got going on at home – that’s no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That’s no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That’s no excuse for not trying. ”

“Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you’ll end up. No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future.”

So much for Obama the bleeding heart liberal.

And so much for those rightwing jerkwads who groan and moan about how Barack Obama is trying to indoctrinate our children in his programs and policies.

So much for them. They have defined themselves into the discredited ruins that have become the rightwing lunatic fringe.
