Mitt’s In It

Not that I haven’t been expecting this, but it looks like another GOP challenger to Barack Obama has just launched his bid for the nomination. I saw it on MSNBC

Republican Mitt Romney took the first official steps toward a second presidential bid Monday, telling supporters he had formed an exploratory committee to begin a White House run.
I still don’t understand all this “Exploratory Committee” business. What’s to explore? Didn’t Romney already explore this? And its not like the field is going to be wide and deep like it was the last go around. Romney is in it with Tim “Yawn” Pawlenty and that’s about it unless you consider The Donald, Newt “Adultery is My Middle Name” Gingrich, and Michele “Nuttier than Squirrel Poop” Bachmann.

Like I said, what’s to explore?

Maybe he wants to explore what the average Republican primary voter – far more conservative than the average general election Republican voters – thinks of Romneycare.

You know, the healthcare reform that Mitt Romney’s state passed into law under his stewardship. The one that is the very model for the Healthcare For All Act passed last year despite the howls coming from the rightwing. Passage of that bill into law is the one main thing that has developed since the last presidential election, and that bill can be painted all over Mitt Romney.

Like in this statement issued by President Obama late last February:

“I know that many of you have asked for flexibility for your states under this law.  In fact, I agree with Mitt Romney, who recently said he's proud of what he accomplished on health care by giving states the power to determine their own health care solutions. He's right.”
Having President Obama agree with you is the kiss of death to GOP primary voters.

Absolutely, the kiss of death.

So yeah, maybe that needs to be explored.

Mitt is no more explorer than Captain Spaulding, these guys don't declare because then any money they raise becomes regulated as campaign spending; it cuts into their scamming.
