It all revolves around the August 2nd deadline for Congress to raise the debt ceiling or let this country, whose full faith and credit has never in its history been questioned, fall into default on its loans. Gohmert now thinks that the date is a fake one, but not an arbitrary one. In fact, he claims that August 2nd has been planned all along, just not as the default date.Gohmert points to the fact that August 4th is Barack Obama’s own birthday. And on August 3rd he is throwing himself a birthday party with celebrities in attendance.
Gohmert added 2 and 2 and came up with his latest of a whole stream of wacky conspiracies: Obama is using the debt crisis, one that has been produced and directed by his own party courtesy of his wacky Teabagger followers, to raise campaign funds.
No, I’m serious.
