Like that? I’ve been waiting for nearly 5 years to put that headline up on a blog piece. It has been nearly 5 years since I started writing this blog, and it has been nearly 10 years since Osama Bin Laden’s hijacked planes were rammed into the twin towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania .
Killing thousands. Killing more Americans than the Japanese killed on December 7th 1941 .
What a frustrating time for Americans. What a colossal incompetent job done in not being able to locate and destroy a 6 foot 3 inch tall Arab among a sea of five foot tall Pashtos. For seven years George Bush and his people let the guy slip through their fingers, and Bin Laden thumbing his nose at Americans with his cassette tape recordings.
So it took Barack Obama and his leadership team two years to get done what it took George Bush and his leadership team seven years not to get done.
And more the irony that while Barack Obama was addressing the White House Correspondents Dinner he knew full well what was going to happen in just a few hours. The coolness of the man is astounding.
And one nice outcome is that the silliness that preceded this event, all the birth certificate talk and talk of the president’s education will all end for a while at least. And the other nice outcome is that unless something else happens, this makes President Obama virtually unbeatable in 2012.
And it really is a Win-Win situation. Americans win because the man who killed so many of us is now fish food. Osama Bin Laden wins because he is now surrounded by 76 virgins who will see to his every need. The only downside is that Bin Laden will only have one eye to see them with.
Oh well, win some, lose some.
